§ 6204.  Validity of unsworn declaration. (a)  General rule.-- Except as set forth in subsection (b), if a law of this Commonwealth requires or permits use of a sworn declaration, an unsworn declaration meeting the requirements of this chapter has the same effect as a sworn declaration. (b)  Exception.-- This chapter does not apply to: (1)  a deposition; (2)  an oath of office; (3)  an oath or affirmation required to be given before a specified official other than a notary public; (4)  a declaration relating to real property required or authorized to be recorded; and (5)  an oath or affirmation required by 20 Pa.C.S. § 3132.1 (relating to self-proved wills).
