§ 1957. Uncollectible checks. Whenever any check issued in payment of any fee or for any other purpose is returned
to the department or a municipality as uncollectible, the department or municipality
shall charge a fee of $38 for each driver's license, registration, replacement of
tags, transfer of registration, certificate of title, whether original or duplicate,
special hauling permit and each other unit of issue by the department or municipality,
