Sports gaming profits veterans fund

(A) As used in this section, "armed forces" and "veteran" have the same meanings as in section 5903.01 of the Revised Code. (B) The sports gaming profits veterans fund is hereby created in the state treasury. Interest earned on the moneys in the fund shall be credited to the fund. The director of veterans services shall use all moneys credited to the fund for the following purposes: (1) For the direct benefit of veterans and their spouses and dependents, for the following purposes: (a) Job training or assistance for job retraining; (b) Assistance during a period of unemployment due to prolonged physical or mental illness or disability of the veteran resulting from service in the armed forces; (c) Individual counseling or family counseling programs; (d) Family support group programs or programs for children of members of the armed forces; (e) Honor guard services. (2) To provide additional funding to a county veterans service commission to alleviate inequality of funding among such commissions; (3) To provide additional funding to a county veterans service commission in response to an emergency or declared disaster; (4) To provide additional funding to an Ohio veterans home established under Chapter 5907. of the Revised Code; (5) To provide funding to a program administered by the Ohio national guard that provides support to members of the armed forces and their families, especially during deployments.
