Rights and Remedies of Consumer

(a) This chapter shall not limit rights or remedies available to a consumer under any other law.(b) Any waiver of rights by a consumer under this chapter shall be void.(c) In addition to pursuing any other remedy, a consumer may bring an action to recover any damages caused by a violation of this chapter within four years after the cause of action has accrued. By the original agreement, the parties may reduce the period of limitation to not less than one year but may not extend the period of limitation. The court may award a consumer who prevails up to treble damages, together with costs, disbursements, and reasonable attorney fees, and any equitable relief that the court determines is appropriate.
