Notification of noncompliance

The Secretary shall notify the owner, charterer, managing operator, agent, master, or individual in charge of a vessel found not to be in compliance with a regulation prescribed under this part and state how compliance may be achieved. (Source: (Pub. L. 98–89, Aug. 26, 1983, 97 Stat. 525.))
