Membership

(a) The Commission shall include the following members: (1) one or more member of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate, subject to the provisions of subsection (b); (2) one or more member of the Senate appointed by the Minority Leader of the Senate, subject to the provisions of subsection (b); (3) one or more member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, subject to the provisions of subsection (b); (4) one or more member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, subject to the provisions of subsection (b); (5) one member appointed by the Governor representing the Governor's Office; and (6) the following members appointed by the Governor as follows: (A) 2 people with experience running or coaching a nonprofit organization whose mission is to leverage sport for youth development; (B) 2 people with experience in the development of policies or the funding or evaluation of programs that elevate underserved youth; (C) one person with experience in adaptive sports programming; (D) one person with experience coaching or administering youth sports programs for one or more school sports teams or sports club; (E) one person who is a parent or caregiver of a child who participates in sports programming; (F) one person with experience training coaches in positive youth development; and (G) one representative of a school athletic association in this State or a physical education teacher. (b) More than 4 members of the General Assembly may be appointed to serve on the Commission if the number of members appointed at any time, except in the case of a vacancy, equally represent the majority and minority caucus of each chamber.
