Sec. 12.004. FOREIGN DEED. If written evidence of title to land has been filed outside the county in which the land is located or outside the state, a copy of the written evidence may be recorded in the county in which the land is located if: (1) the original was properly executed and recorded under the law governing the recording; and (2) the copy is certified by the officer having legal custody of the original.
