9. Notwithstanding any law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, whenever the salary guide and terms and conditions of employment of one or more school districts seeking to join a newly formed or existing limited purpose or all purpose regional district is set to expire upon the formation of the new regional district, the school district may:      a.   elect to adopt the expiring salary guide and terms and conditions of employment for a period not to exceed one year or until a successor agreement is negotiated with the majority representative of the new regional district, whichever occurs first; or      b.   elect to adopt the salary guide and terms and conditions of employment of the largest comparable district joining the new regional district.    L.2021, c.402, s.9.
