§ 404-o. Distinctive "Olympic Spirit" license plates. Any person shall\nupon request be issued distinctive "Olympic Spirit" license plates in\nsupport of the Lake Placid olympic training center bearing the "Olympic\nSpirit" logo designed by the United States olympic committee and\napproved by the commissioner. Application for said license plate shall\nbe filed with the commissioner in such form and detail as the\ncommissioner shall prescribe.\n 2. A distinctive "Olympic Spirit" license plate issued pursuant to\nthis section shall be issued in the same manner as other number plates\nupon payment of the regular registration fee prescribed by section four\nhundred one of this article; provided, however, that an additional\nannual service charge of twenty dollars shall be charged for each plate.\nSuch service charge shall be transmitted by the commissioner to the\ncomptroller for deposit into the United States Olympic Committee/Lake\nPlacid Olympic Training Center Fund established by section eighty-four\nof the state finance law. Up to twenty percent of the moneys in the fund\nwould be available to the department of motor vehicles to defray the\ncosts of designing, producing, the availability of "Olympic Spirit"\nlicense plates.\n
