The department shall permit a nurse anesthetist to bill independently for services rendered by such nurse anesthetist. If a nurse anesthetist chooses to bill independently for such services, the department shall make the payment for the services directly to the nurse anesthetist. (Added by Stats. 1974, Ch. 1374.)
