§13-50-1 Definitions. As used in this chapter unless otherwise provided: “Marks" means the lines painted on the Waimea recreational pier to delineate spaces to be occupied for fishing. "Unattended Fishing Line" means a fishing line of which the rightful owner is not on the pier. "Waimea Bay" means the bay located on the southern portion of the island of Kauai. "Waimea Recreational Pier" means the public fishing pier located in Waimea bay. [Eff: MAY 26 1981 ] (Auth: HRS §188-53) (Imp: HRS §188-53)

§13-50-2 Prohibited activities. No person shall engage in the following activities within Waimea bay, or on the Waimea recreational pier: (1) Within fifty yards (45.72 meters) of the Waimea recreational pier, to use any spear, trap, thrownet, or draw, drag, seine or any other type of net except crab net; or (2) While on the Waimea recreational pier: (A) Possess more than two fishing poles with

one line each; (B) Fish with more than two fishing lines; (C) Leave any unattended fishing line in the water; (D) Possess any thrownet; (E) Reserve or occupy any space between the marks on the pier other than the one space personally occupied for fishing; or (F) Fish from any space between marks on the pier that is already occupied by a fisherman. §13-50-3 Penalty. A person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided by law. [Eff: MAY 26 1981 ] (Auth: HRS §188-53) (Imp: HRS §188-70)
