3 CSR 10-6.620 Turtles PURPOSE: This rule establishes seasons, methods, and limits for taking turtles. (1) Daily Limit: Common snapping turtles and soft-shelled turtles; two (2) turtles in aggregate. (2) Methods: Snagging, snaring, grabbing, bow, crossbow, trotline, throwline, limb line, bank line, jug line, hand, handnet, or pole and line. Shooting turtles with firearms is prohibited except as provided in 3 CSR 10-4.130. (3) Seasons: Common snapping turtles throughout the year; soft-shelled turtles from July 1 through December 31.
