Travel; advance from imprest fund.

In exceptional circumstances and in hardship cases, an agency head may authorize travel subsistence advances through the authorized imprest funds and the proper disbursing official to an employee entitled to subsistence of mileage allowances under these regulations, a sum considered advisable with regard to the character and probable duration of the travel expenses is recoverable from the employee or the employee's estate by: (a) setoff against accrued pay, or other amount due the employee; and (a) such other methods as provided by law.
