Special request plates for prisoners of war

(a) In addition to complying with applicable requirements in AS 28.10 and this chapter, an individual applying for a special request plate for prisoners of war must complete an application form provided by the department and meet the eligibility requirements of AS 28.10.181(l) that apply to prisoners of war. (b) An applicant must submit written verification from the United States Department of Defense to identify the applicant as a prisoner of war during a declared war or other conflict. (c) The applicant must be a registered owner of the motor vehicle and the vehicle must be currently registered in this state.
