Rule 437. Emerging from alley, driveway, or building; violation as civil infraction

(1) The driver of a vehicle that is merging from an alley, driveway, or building shall stop the vehicle immediately before driving onto a sidewalk or onto the sidewalk area extending across any alleyway, shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian as may be necessary to avoid collision and, upon entering the roadway shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching on the roadway. (2) A person who violates this rule is responsible for a civil infraction.
