The responsibilities of the Commission on College and Career Success are to: (1) Define ‘‘college and career ready’’ in Mathematics, English and Science. (2) Examine and make specific recommendations for better alignment of academic standards and assessments across the secondary and post-secondary educational sectors as well as industry in this Commonwealth. (3) Encourage local school districts to adopt a core high school curriculum for all students of this Commonwealth. (4) Present to the Governor a legislative and regulatory package that would address the needs outlined in their findings.
(5) Investigate policies and programs that ensure a higher number of prepared students enter and remain in our colleges and universities.
