(a) A person may not operate a boat with mechanical propulsion that has a boat number issued by the department unless it has a current validation sticker issued with the certificate of number displayed within six inches of the boat number on each side of the boat. (b) Repealed 7/1/2006. (c) Only the current validation sticker may be displayed. The owner must cover or remove an expired validation sticker. (d) The year that a validation sticker expires will be indicated by the colors blue, international orange, green, and red, in rotation, beginning with blue for stickers that expire in 2001. (e) Under this section the department will issue a validation sticker that is approximately three inches by three inches in size.
