Engineers A18.1 - 1999, Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts, as copyrighted and published in 1999 by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Three Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016-5990. (b) Where the application for the installation of a platform lift or stairway chairlift was filed with the department before the effective date of this chapter and the applicant is unable to comply with the current requirements, the director may grant a temporary variance without publication of a legal notice provided the applicant meets all other requirements of section 12-229-16.1.
