Alum or other material used to stop the flow of blood may be used only in liquid or powder form and shall be applied with a clean cloth, towel, or other clean appliance. The use of styptic sticks, pencils, lump alum, or powder puffs is prohibited. History: Effective August 1, 1978; amended effective January 1, 2011.
