The Department or its designee has the authority to visit and inspect all juvenile detention facilities to assess such facilities’ compliance with these rules and any other standards outlined in Title 20, Chapter 5, Section 20-518, Idaho Code. (7-1-24) 01. Annual Visits. Each juvenile detention center is subject to announced or unannounced visits by Department representatives on at least an annual basis. (7-1-24) 02. Review of Logs, Records, Policy and Procedure Manuals, Memorandums and Reports. All logs, records, policy and procedures manuals, memorandums, training records, and incident and other reports will be available for review excluding medical records, personnel records and personnel action reports. Department representatives will be allowed to observe and privately interview juvenile offenders and staff concerning any matter pertaining to these rules. Department representatives will have access to all parts of the detention center for the purpose of inspecting the physical plant. (7-1-24)
