§13-49-1 Definitions. As used in this chapter unless otherwise provided: "Ahukini Recreational Pier" means the public fishing pier located in Hanamaulu bay. "Hanamaulu Bay" means that bay located on the eastern portion of the island of Kauai. “Zone 1” means that portion of Hanamaulu bay bounded by an imaginary straight line from the tip of the breakwater westward to point "A" and along the shoreline up to the highest wash of the waves, as delineated on “Map of Hanamaulu Bay and Ahukini Recreational Pier, Kauai” dated 2/2/01 attached at the end of this chapter. “Zone 2” means that portion of Hanamaulu bay bounded by the breakwater and a seaward boundary delineated by a straiqht line drawn from the tip of the breakwater northwestward to Hanamaulu point as delineated on “Map of Hanamaulu Bay and Ahukini Recreational Pier, Kauai” dated 2/2/01 attached at the end of this chapter. §13-49-2

§13-49-2 Prohibited activities. No person shall engage in the following activities within Hanamaulu bay, or on the Ahukini recreational pier: (1) Swim within zone 1; (2) Use any draw, drag, seine or any other type of net except thrownet and crab net within zone 1; (3) Use any thrownet or spear in Hanamaulu bay within fifty yards (45.72 meters) of the Ahukini recreational pier or from the adjoining abandoned pier frame; (4) Snag any fish or possess any thrownet while on the Ahukini recreational pier; (5) Possess or take more than seventy-five akule per person per day from zone 1; and (6) Possess or take more than five mullet per person per day from zone 1.
