15–16. FHA Home Improvement Loans, Savings and Loan. (Statutory Authority: 1976 Code § 34-1-60) State Chartered Savings and Loan Associations and/or Building and Loan Associations are hereby authorized to make any loan for property alteration, repair or improvement that is accepted for insurance by the Federal Housing Administrator under the provisions of the National Housing Act, as now or hereafter amended, for such amount and repayable upon such terms and within such periods as are acceptable to the insuring agency; provided, the total amount of all loans for property alteration, repair, or improvement shall not, at any time, exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the association’s assets.
