12:10:03:01. Definitions. Words defined in SDCL chapters 40-18 through 40-21, inclusive, have the same meaning when used in this chapter. In addition, terms used in this chapter mean: (1) "Board," the South Dakota State Brand Board; (2) "Bona fide rodeo producer," a person who organizes rodeos or provides stock to rodeos; (3) "Rodeo," a competition in which performers display their skills in events such as saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, roping, cutting, goat tying, or pole bending; (4) "Rodeo stock," the horses, bulls, steers, heifers, and calves used in rodeo competition; (5) "Rodeo stock transportation permit," an annual permit that allows rodeo stock to be transported out of the ownership inspection area for the purpose of attending a rodeo, or to be transported into and back out of the ownership inspection area from within the state for the purpose of attending a rodeo, without an ownership inspection.
