Setting of Trial Date at Arraignment

After a plea of not guilty is entered in this district, the magistrate judge conducting the arraignment shall set a trial date on the first day of the trial docket following the 30-day period prescribed by the Speedy Trial Act, or upon the consent of the parties, on the first day of any trial docket not more than 70 days after arraignment. Trial settings must be consistent with the Constitution and the statutes of the United States.
