CLAIMS IN CHAPTER 11 CASES A request for an order establishing a deadline for filing proofs of claim in a chapter 11 case must conform to the Procedural Guidelines for Filing Requests for Orders to Set the Last Date for Filing Proofs of Claim, which shall be available on the Court’s website (http://www.nysb.uscourts.gov/sites/default/files/3003-1-guidelines.pdf). Comment Procedures for requesting deadlines for filing claims, traditionally known as “bar dates,” were originally promulgated by General Order M- 386. 19 This rule was amended in 2013 to refer to the Procedural Guidelines that apply to bar date orders and to include a link to the Court’s website where practitioners may access the governing procedures.
