(a) Convening Pretrial Conferences: In addition to any scheduling conference and the final pretrial conference, the judicial officer to whom the case is assigned for trial may convene as many pretrial conferences as the judicial officer determines will reduce 58 cost and delay in the ultimate disposition of the case. The judicial officer may require the parties to meet or confer in advance of a pretrial conference. (b) Pretrial Conference Order: After a pretrial conference, the judicial officer shall enter an order reciting the action taken. The order shall control the subsequent course of the action and may be modified in the same manner as a scheduling order under LR Civ P 16.01(f).
