(a) Unless ordered otherwise by the presiding judge in a specific case, when the presiding judge is a district judge, the Clerk of Court shall automatically refer the following matters to the assigned magistrate judge, as indicated: (1) All discovery matters in civil cases (other than prisoner cases); and (2) All social security appeals and bankruptcy appeals, for all proceedings consistent with the jurisdiction provided by 28 U.S.C. § 636. (b) Unless ordered otherwise by the presiding judge in a specific case, the Clerk of Court shall automatically refer the following matters to the duty magistrate judge, as indicated: (1) All motions to confirm sale shall be referred to the magistrate judge assigned those duties for that specific year. (2) All garnishment, asset and writ of execution issues shall be referred to the magistrate judge assigned those duties for that specific year. (3) All motions for settlement conference shall be referred to the magistrate judge assigned to oversee the settlement program.
