(a) Assignment to Divisions. The court may assign a judge to any of the district's four divisions (Indianapolis, Evansville, New Albany, or Terre Haute) permanently or by cause number. (b) Divisions with Permanent Judges. A division with at least one permanently assigned judge must remain in continuous session.
(c) Motions Judge. The court will designate a “motions judge” to hear: (1) emergency matters in cases where the assigned judge is absent; and (2) other matters in cases not yet assigned to a judge. (d) Identity of Motions Judge. The clerk must identify the motions judge upon request.
