When a petit jury has been selected but before deliberations begin, court security officers shall, upon request, escort jurors outside the building provided they remain on courthouse property. When a petit jury is sequestered to begin deliberations, court security officers shall collect and secure all cellphones and other electronic devices belonging to jurors until such time as the jury has reached a verdict, at which time such devices shall be returned to their owners.
