An attorney must obtain permission from the court in order to participate in the trial of a jury action in which the attorney is a witness. If counsel wishes to call opposing counsel as a witness, counsel shall file and serve a notice on opposing counsel, including a brief statement explaining why the testimony of counsel may be necessary, at least thirty (30) days prior to the start of the trial.
