Abstract

In Part I of this article it has been shown that the economic effect of the operation, during the past centuries, of the common-law remedies for compensating personal injuries has shown such remedies to be almost a total failure. In Part II it is proposed to discuss the effect and the legal validity of the Ohio Industrial Insurance Act of 1911, which is founded, not upon the common-law-remedies, butt upon the German Industrial Insurance Law of 1884, which has been adopted in a more or less modified form in most European countries.
