Written or Oral Orders; Timing

Rules of Juvenile Court

Rule: 9.01

Jurisdiction: MN

Bluebook Citation: Minn. R. Juv. P. 9.01

Court orders may be written or stated on the record. An order stated on the record shall also be reduced to writing by the court. All orders shall be filed with the court administrator within 15 days of the conclusion of the testimony, unless the court finds that a 15-day extension is required in the interests of justice or the best interests of the child. Each order issued following a hearing shall include the name and contact information of the court reporter. Failure to include the court reporter contact information does not extend the timeline for appeal. An order shall remain in full force and effect pursuant to law or until the first occurrence of one of the following: (a) issuance of an inconsistent order; or (b) the order ends pursuant to its terms.
