Order To Appear Upon application by the prosecuting authority alleging that a defendant has violated the condi- tions of release, a judicial authority may, if pro- bable cause is found, order that the defendant appear in court for a hearing upon such allega- tions. Said order shall be served upon the defend- ant (1) by delivering a copy to the defendant personally, (2) by leaving it at his or her usual place of abode with a person of suitable age and discretion then residing therein, (3) by mailing it by registered or certified mail to the defendant’s last known address, or (4) by serving the order upon the defendant’s counsel who shall notify the defendant of the order and the hearing date. If service is made pursuant to (4) above and such service proves insufficient to give the defendant notice, then service shall be made as otherwise provided in this section.
