52.20(1) The commission shall have subpoena power during any investigation conducted on its behalf compelling the appearance of persons or the production of documents before the person designated to conduct the investigation on behalf of the commission. [Court Order November 9, 2001, effective February 15, 2002] 52.20(2) The commission shall have subpoena power on behalf of the state and the judicial officer or employee compelling the appearance of persons or the production of documents during discovery and the final hearing. 52.20(3) Disobedience of the commission’s subpoena shall be punishable as contempt in the district court in and for the county in which the hearing is to be held or where the investigation is being conducted. 52.20(4) Any application for a subpoena shall be made to the commission’s executive secretary or chairperson.
