In the event a case settles before the scheduled short trial date, the parties must, no more than 7 working days after a settlement is reached but no later than 2 days before the first day of trial, submit to the commissioner either a written stipulation and order of dismissal executed by the parties and/or their attorneys or a written statement signed by counsel confirming that the parties have reached a settlement. Violation of this rule shall subject the parties, their attorneys, or both, to sanctions by the commissioner. [Added; effective January 1, 2005; amended; effective January 1, 2023.]
