Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (Amended June 13, 2019, to take effect Jan. 1, 2020.) At the request of a juror who is deaf or hard of hearing or at the request of the judicial authority, an interpreter or interpreters provided by the Judi- cial Branch and qualified under General Statutes § 17a-838 shall assist such juror during the juror orientation program and all subsequent proceed- ings, and when the jury assembles for delib- eration. (P.B. 1978-1997, Sec. 846A.) (Amended August 24, 2001, to take effect Jan. 1, 2002; amended June 13, 2019, to take effect Jan. 1, 2020.)
