Scope and applicability

16.101(1) The rules in this chapter govern the filing of all documents in the Iowa Judicial Branch electronic document management system (EDMS) in cases commenced on or after the initiation of electronic filing in an Iowa county or in the Iowa appellate courts. The rules of this chapter also govern the electronic filing of documents in cases converted to electronic cases. 16.101(2) Chapter 16 comments serve solely as explanation of the Iowa Rules of Electronic Procedure and are not a part of the rules. 16.101(3) The Iowa Rules of Electronic Procedure will be cited as “Iowa R.
