Idaho Criminal Rule 44. Right to and Appointment of Counsel (a) Right to Appointed Counsel. Every defendant who is entitled to appointed counsel under law must have counsel assigned to represent the defendant at every stage of the proceeding from initial appearance before the magistrate or district court, unless the defendant waives such appointment. (b) Assignment Procedures. The procedures for implementing the right set out in subsection (a) are those provided by law. ( Adopted February 22, 2017, effective July 1, 2017 .)
