(a) When a brief in opposition to the petition for appeal has been filed, the appellant may, within 7 days thereafter, in lieu of oral argument, file with the clerk of this Court, as provided for in Rule 5:1B, a reply brief not to exceed the longer of 15 pages or 2,625 words in length. (b) When cross-error is assigned in a brief in opposition, the appellant may, without waiving oral argument, file with the clerk of this Court, as provided for in Rule 5:1B and within 14 days after filing of the brief in opposition, a reply brief not in excess of 10 pages or 1,750 words which addresses only the cross-error.
