(a) All cases in which the juvenile court has jurisdiction over a criminal offense committed by an adult shall be commenced by an information filed by the prosecuting attorney of the county where the offense is alleged to have occurred. The information and all court proceedings shall be in accordance with the Utah Rules of Criminal Procedure, except that a jury shall consist of four persons. If a jury trial is demanded by the defendant, the court may transfer the case to a district court. (b) The court may permit diversion of an adult criminal offense pursuant to Utah Code Ann. § 77-2-1 et seq. upon recommendation of the prosecuting attorney.
