A person serving the process of the appellate courts shall make proof of service thereof to the court promptly and in any event within the time during which the person served must respond to process. If service is made by a person other than a marshal, a marshal’s deputy, a state police officer, or other officer of the court so designated, the person making service shall make affidavit thereof. Failure to make proof of service shall not affect the validity of the service. (SCO 439 effective November 15, 1980; amended by SCO 1153 effective July 15, 1994)
