(a) Persons who may file petition Any person identified in section 5974 may file a petition to begin CARE Act proceedings. If a petition is based on a referral authorized by section 5978, only the person designated in that section may file the petition. (Subd (a) amended effective September 1, 2024.) Rule 7.2225 amended effective September 1, 2024; adopted effective September 1, 2023.
