AR 3 ONE DEFENDANT PER CASE For criminal cases involving more than one defendant on a single charging document, a duplicate original of the charging document will be filed for each defendant. Each defendant will receive a unique cause number. All subsequent pleadings related to this defendant for this cause shall be placed in the defendant's case file to assure that the defendant's file represents a complete legal record. The assignment of a separate cause number to each defendant of those named on a single charging document is not considered a severance. Should a defendant desire that the case be severed, the defendant must move for severance. [Adopted effective March 1, 1974; Amended effective December 28, 1990.]
