(a) In Writing. Any notice required by these rules must be in writing. (b) Email Permitted. Written notice may be sent by email to the judge or judicial candidate and to counsel, if the judge or judicial candidate is represented by counsel, unless otherwise specified in the rules. The Commission must confirm that the email address it uses for notifying the judge or judicial candidate is reasonably calculated to give the judge or judicial candidate actual knowledge of the contents of the notice. If the judge or judicial candidate provides an email address to the Commission to use in a disciplinary proceeding, the Commission must use that email address. (c) Guardian. If the judge or judicial candidate has a guardian or guardian ad litem, notice must also be sent to the guardian or guardian ad litem.
