(a) State Bar New Attorney Training The State Bar must establish and administer a New Attorney Training program under rules adopted by the Board of Trustees of the State Bar, including Rules of the State Bar of California, rules 2.140-2.144. (Subd (a) amended effective October 1, 2025.) (b) State Bar New Attorney Training requirements All new licensees of the State Bar must, by the last day of the month of their one year anniversary as a State Bar licensee, complete the New Attorney Training program and report having done so as provided in Rules of the State Bar of California, rule 2.141. (Subd (b) amended effective October 1, 2025.) (c) Failure to comply with program A licensee of the State Bar who fails to satisfy the requirements of the State Bar New Attorney Training program will be enrolled as an inactive licensee of the State Bar under rules adopted by the Board of Trustees of the State Bar, including Rules of the State Bar of California, rules 2.150-2.153. (Subd (c) amended effective October 1, 2025.) (d) Fees and penalties The State Bar has the authority to set and collect appropriate fees and penalties.
