Local Rules

(a) Local Rules Permitted. After consultation with the district magistrate judges, the district judges of a judicial district, by majority vote, may adopt rules that are: (1) clear and concise; (2) necessary for the judicial district’s administration; (3) consistent with applicable statutes; and (4) consistent with—but not duplicative of—Supreme Court Rules. (b) Publication and Accessibility of Local Rules. Local rules adopted under K.S.A. 20-342 must be: (1) made accessible to the public; and (2) posted on the Judicial Branch website. (c) Effective Date of Local Rules. Local rules are effective upon filing with the clerk of the appellate courts and posting on the Judicial Branch website.
