ecuting Authority in Lieu of Arrest Warrant When a prosecuting authority receives a com- plaint that a misdemeanor has been committed, in lieu of applying for an arrest warrant, the pros- ecuting authority may summon the person or per- sons against whom the complaint is made to appear before the court at the date and time speci- fied in the summons. The prosecuting authority also may issue a summons when directed to do so by the judicial authority pursuant to Section 36-4. (P.B. 1978-1997, Sec. 601.)
