An interpreter is subject to the provisions of these rules relating to qualification as an expert and the administration of an oath or affirmation to make a true translation. Note: This rule is identical to the federal rule. The qualification of an interpreter is within the discretion of the trial judge and depends on the circumstances of each case. Peoples National Bank v. Manos Brothers , 226 S.C. 257, 84 S.E.2d 857 (1954).
