Habeas corpus application

This article applies to habeas corpus proceedings in the superior court under Penal Code section 1473 et seq. or any other provision of law authorizing relief from unlawful confinement or unlawful conditions of confinement, except for death penalty-related habeas corpus proceedings, which are governed by rule 4.560 et seq. Rule 4.550 amended effective April 25, 2019; adopted effective January 1, 2002; previously amended effective January 1, 2007.
