Forms of Actions

There are four forms of action in justice courts: civil actions, traffic civil infractions, small claims actions, and summary eviction actions. Rules 3–76 govern civil actions; Rules 81–87 govern traffic civil infractions; Rules 88–100 govern small claims actions; and Rules 101–111 govern summary eviction actions. Rules 77–80 govern all actions filed in justice courts. [Amended; effective October 29, 2024.]
